If you ever ask someone what bot they use 90% of the time your gonna hear "ERASER." This bot has grown to be one of the biggest things in the Quake community.
I have to say i've been using this bot from the begininng and I really like it, I think its one of the best bots there is, if not the best. It has more features than you can shake a stick at.
This bot has some awesome deathmatching skills, just create a route for the map your playing and the bot plays very human like, basically like you. The bot can adjust it's skills based on yours. For example if you are really playing crappy the bot will tone down it's skill a little bit so you can have a little fun, but when you start having too much fun its tones the skill up a notch, so it's an even flow of deathmatching fun. Certain bots have expertise with certain weapons, one bot will be a rocket hog, and another will be a rail gun fanatic. There is also bots who make it their goal to get the quad damage and wreak mayhem. The bots skill are also customizable by editing the provided bots.cfg, you can use a bot with a custom player model or skin, and make it like any weapon you want it to like.
The CTF mode is where I think the Eraser shines. Now with grapple support the bots play the levels great, especially with a good route. There also a few commands that help you out like being able to tell your team to raid the base while you can kick back with your auto doc rune and protect your base. The bots seem to not care for runes very much though, which is no biggie. They are also very protective of the flag which really helps you out.
Teamplay is setup great, you can creat and customize your own team of bots and have a blast agains another team. This is a really fun feature considering that you never see any teamplay deathmactch servers. The bots just run around shooting any enemy in sight, its really cool to participate with an artificial ally.
One of the best things about the Eraser is that it is very customizable to your preferences. As I said earlier you can edit bots.cfg and create your own bots and teams, if you wanted you can create you own bot with your name and just go in chase cam mode and watch him frag away. The way the route table system is setup is excellent. You can create a good route in about 10 to 20 minutes, and the bots really follow them too. You can use the command "bot showpath" and watch how the bots follow your route and how the use it.
Overall this is a great bot, very easy to use, lots of features(like Vwep), and a good opponent. If you haven't tried this bot I really recommend it, and im sure a lot of other people would too.
